There are very few artists who, globally, can get people as hyped on an upcoming album as Drake. I’d name some of the others but they aren’t in this painting, are they? ARE THEY? There’s something SO fun about an album release and the week and night leading up to it. I get so high on it. Certified Lover Boy came out during the final months of the pandemic and we were all craving normalcy and a sense of togetherness, and what better way to feel that than with a good old-fashioned Aubrey drop?! I really just wanted to capitalize on that excitement and create something from it. Something that felt cool and also silly. Much like the CLB, himself. Maybe something Lil Dicky would hang in his bedroom.
